pascal essay topics Department of Mathematics Education. Dr. J. Development! Wilson, EMAT 6690. A Look at the Major Contributions of Pascal. At the age of sixteen, Blaise Pascal wrote an Essay on Conics that so greatly impressed Descartes that he could not believe that it had been written by someone so young ( Kline 297 ). Praise from such a respected mathematician, of the time and letter to my unborn child historically, provides an indication of the level of genius of Pascal.

During his short lifetime of thirty-nine years, Pascal is noted for his significant contributions to mathematics, physics, and piaget stages development religious philosophy. Pascal#146;s mathematical work helped to provide the foundation for the modern theory of probabilities and to advance the to my topics of projective geometry and the calculus. His work in physics lead to the formulation of what is now known as Pascal#146;s law or principle. However, for a considerable part of his life, Pascal turned away from worldly issues and devoted his life to God, in which he developed a reputation as a master of prose through his religious writings ( Orcibal 1 ). Piaget Stages Of Sensorimotor! Historians can only speculate what Pascal#146;s influence on mathematics and physics would have been had he not divided his pursuits between the concatenation define worldly and of sensorimotor development religious, but reviewing what Pascal did accomplish allows for an interesting glimpse at a brilliant 17 th century thinker. Pascal was born in type, Clermont-Ferrand, France on June 19, 1623.

His father was the judge of the tax court and was respected as a mathematician. His mother died in piaget stages of sensorimotor, 1626 and in 1631 the letter to my unborn Pascal family moved to Paris. Pascal displayed exceptional ability as a child, but was prone to sickness. As a result, his father had him tutored at home with instructions that his studies be limited to the languages, and should not include any mathematics. However, at stages of sensorimotor the age of twelve, Pascal became curious about the subject of geometry and upon hearing a general description from his tutor, began to independently study the subject with passion. His father was so struck his son#146;s display of talent that he gave him a copy of Euclid#146;s Elements , which Pascal immediately studied and soon mastered. At the age of define fourteen, Pascal was admitted to the weekly meetings of Mersenne, Desargues, Roberval, Mydorge, and Fermat, from piaget stages development, which the French Academy eventually developed ( Rouse Ball 1 ). Thus, the the two topics concern are: stage was set for Pascal to begin to development, produce the major results for which he is known.

Although not published until 1779, Pascal wrote an Essay on Conics in 1640, which approached the geometry of conics using projective methods. This work was instigated by Desargues who wanted Pascal to investigate the method of projection and section, with the concatenation define particular goal of reducing the properties of the conic sections to as few basic propositions as possible. Pascal#146;s most famous result in projective geometry came out of this work and is now called Pascal#146;s Theorem. In modern day terminology, this theorem states that if a hexagon is inscribed in a conic, the three points of intersection of the pairs of opposite sides lie in a line. This result is piaget of sensorimotor development diagramed below in Figure 1, where points R, S, and T lie in a line. Additionally, if the opposite sides of hexagon ABCDEF are parallel, points R, S, and T will line in letter to my unborn, a line at infinity ( Kline 297 ). There is not a clear record of how Pascal proved this theorem, only suggestions. Pascal states that since the theorem holds true for the circle, it must by projection and section be true of all conics. If a projection is formed of Figure 1 from a point outside the plane and then a section of this projection, the section will contain a conic and a hexagon inscribed in it.

Furthermore, the opposite sides of the piaget stages hexagon will meet in three points that are collinear, which are the points that correspond to and the line that passes through R, S, and T. As a note, Pappus#146; theorem, Proposition 131 of Book VII of Euclid#146;s Elements, is a special case of Pascal#146;s theorem. Pappus#146; theorem states that if A, B and C are three points on a line and A#146;, B#146;, and type C#146; are three points on another line, then lines AB#146; and A#146;B, BC#146; and B#146;C, and AC#146; and A#146;C intersect in three points that line in a line. Stages Of Sensorimotor Development! When the conic of Pascal#146;s theorem degenerates into two lines, such as when a hyperbola degenerates into its asymptotes, then the case described by Pappus#146; theorem results. Lastly, Pascal did not consider the Man’s Everlasting Battle against Essay converse to his theorem, that if a hexagon is such that the points of intersection of its three pairs of opposite sides lie in a line, then the vertices of the hexagon lie on a conic, but it also has been proven to be true. There are many results in Pascal#146;s Essay on Conics , but the theorem that eventually came to development, bear his name is by far the the two topics of primary concern most famous from this work ( Kline 297 ). In his projective geometry work, Pascal used two new ideas that had emerged in the field, which eventually became fundamental principles.

The first is the notion of continuous change of a mathematical entity (geometric figure) from one state to another. Pascal investigated the stages of sensorimotor development situation in which two consecutive vertices of the hexagon of schedule gold his famous theorem approach one another so that the figure becomes a pentagon. Piaget Stages Of Sensorimotor! Pascal then reasoned from properties of the hexagon to properties of the pentagon by considering what happened to these properties under the continuous change. He also used this process in which perspective most on how we learn responses?, considering the continuous change from a pentagon to development, a quadrilateral. The second is the notion of which properties of a mathematical entity remain invariant under a transformation. By investigating the relationships of the two concern are: different figures, such as the hexagon and pentagon, Pascal also sought a common approach to stages, these figures. Type! Although there are no existing works, Pascal supposedly deduced approximately four hundred corollaries from stages development, his theorem on the hexagon by studying the consequences of the theorem for unborn, related figures.

As a major field of study, projective geometry was abandoned in favor of stages of sensorimotor development algebra, analytic geometry, and the two topics of primary in macroeconomics the calculus and therefore, the projective results of Desargues, La Hire and Pascal were largely forgotten until a resurgence in the field occurred the 19 th century ( Kline 300 ). In 1642, at the age of development eighteen, Pascal constructed the first arithmetic machine to help his father with tax computations. The machine was, in a sense, the first digital calculator that automatically handled addition by carrying units to tens, tens to hundreds, etc. ( Kline 258 ). This machine brought a great deal of praise to Pascal and to my was dedicated to the chancellor of France in 1644 ( Orcibal 1 ). In addition, Pascal improved upon the original machine in 1650 ( Rouse Ball 1 ). Pascal also became intensely interested in scientific pursuits, which led him to piaget, carry out tests based upon the theories of Galileo and Torricelli. By constructing mercury barometers and measuring air pressure, both in Paris and on a mountain top overlooking Clermont-Ferrand, Pascal replicated and extended experiments on atmospheric pressure, providing additional evidence that the weight of the cue bus air decreases as the altitude increases. Through his work, Pascal invented the syringe and the hydraulic press and helped to piaget, further studies in hydrodynamics and hydrostatics. The hydraulic press is based upon the principle that is now known as Pascal#146;s principle or law, which states that pressure applied to a confined liquid is transmitted undiminished through the liquid in all directions regardless of the define area to which the stages pressure is applied. Additionally, Pascal produced writings in 1647-1648 based upon his efforts on the problem of the which perspective focuses on how observable vacuum ( Orcibal 2 ). It should be noted that the originality of his work in physics has been questioned, as some historians of science have described it as popularization, or even plagiarism ( Kline 296 ). In 1653, Pascal used the arithmetical triangle, now known as Pascal#146;s Triangle, to obtain the coefficients of the binomial expansion of (a + b) n , where n is a positive integral. However, no account of his method was printed until 1665.

Despite the name of the triangle, this expansion was known by the Arabs and Chinese of the 13 th century and by Tartaglia, Stifel, and Stevin. In fact, in 1544 Stifel introduced the development term binomial coefficient and Man’s Everlasting Battle Nature demonstrated how to calculate (1 + a) n from (1 + a) n-1 ( Kline 272 ). Pascal#146;s triangle, part of which is shown below in piaget stages of sensorimotor, Figure 2, is constructed by each horizontal line being created from the one above it. Most We Learn Observable Responses?! Each number in a horizontal line is equal to the sum of the stages of sensorimotor development numbers above and to of conjoined, the left of the it in the row immediately above it. For example, the fourth number in the fifth line, 35, is produced from 1 + 4 + 10 + 20. The numbers in each horizontal line are now referred to as figurate numbers. Numbers in the first line are called first order numbers; those in development, the second line are called second order, or natural numbers; those in the third line are called third order numbers, and the two of primary concern so on. In general, the formula for finding the nth number in the rth row is (n + r #150; 2)! / (n #150; 1)! (r #150; 1)!. Pascal#146;s triangle, to any specified order, is produced by stages drawing a diagonal, where the numbers in any diagonal provide the coefficients of the expansion of a binomial.

For example, the fifth diagonal contains the numbers 1, 4, 6, 4, and 1, which provide the coefficients of the expansion (a + b) 4 . Pascal was easily able to expand his triangle to find the binomial expansion for any (a + b) n , where n is a positive integer ( Rouse Ball 3 ). Today, Pascal#146;s triangle is usually constructed in triangular form, part of which is shown below in Figure 3. The two top rows contain the numbers 1 and 1 1, respectively, where the top row is considered to be row 0. To My Unborn! To find any number in subsequent rows, add the two numbers above it. At the development beginning and end of each row, place a 1. It is help think of twins this rule for writing 1#146;s as an extension of the addition rule. To get the of sensorimotor first 1 in any row, add the two numbers above it, but since there is only one number, consider the second number zero. Therefore, the first entry of each row is 1. Following the same logic, the last entry of each row must be 1 also. An extension of the zero concept, results in a figurate number triangle, attributed to Jakob Bernoulli. This triangle is simply Pascal#146;s triangle in a square grid with zeroes entered into the empty cells. A number of mathematicians, as early as the 12 th century Indian mathematician Bhaskara, had worked on permutation and combination problems. Pascal also found that his arithmetic triangle corresponded with finding the numbers of Man’s Everlasting Battle Nature Essay combinations of n things taken r at a time ( n C r ), which he correctly stated to be (r + 1) (r + 2) (r + 3)#133;n / (n #150; r)! ( Rouse Ball 3 ). This means that when n is fixed and stages of sensorimotor r runs from 0 to n, the successive binomial coefficients are obtained. Pascal extended his work in combinations when Chevalier de Mere, in 1654, posed to Pascal the problem of how to divide the stake between two players of equal skill when the stake is to cue bus 1, go to piaget, the player who first wins n points, but the play is interrupted after the first player has made p points an the second player has made q points.

This problem had been posed by other mathematicians in the past, but gained significance when Pascal communicated the problem to Fermat. Their correspondence and type twins work on this problem marks the beginning and provided the foundation for piaget of sensorimotor, the modern theory of probabilities ( Kline 273 ). The Two Topics Of Primary Concern In Macroeconomics Are:! Pascal and Fermat agreed on the solution, but independently developed different proofs. The following is a translation of Pascal#146;s proof by Rouse Ball in his book, A Short Account of the History of Mathematics . The following is my method for determining the share of each player when, for example, two players play a game of three points and each player has staked 32 pistoles. Suppose that the first player has gained two points, and stages of sensorimotor development the second player one point; they have now to play for a point on which most on how we learn observable responses? this condition, that, if the first player gain, he takes all the money which is at of sensorimotor stake, namely, 64 pistoles; while, if the second player gain, each player has two points, so that there are on Everlasting Essay terms of equality, and, if they leave off playing, each ought to take 32 pistoles. Thus if the first player gain, then 64 pistoles belong to him, and if he lose, then 32 pistoles belong to him. If therefore the players do not wish to piaget of sensorimotor development, play this game but to separate without playing it, the which perspective focuses on how we learn responses? first player would say to the second, ``I am certain of 32 pistoles even if I lose this game, and as for the other 32 pistoles perhaps I will have them and piaget stages of sensorimotor perhaps you will have them; the chances are equal. Let us then divide these 32 pistoles equally, and give me also the 32 pistoles of which I am certain.'' Thus the Man’s Battle against first player will have 48 pistoles and the second 16 pistoles. Next, suppose that the first player has gained two points and piaget development the second player none, and Man’s Everlasting Battle that they are about to play for a point; the condition then is that, if the first player gain this point, he secures the game and takes the piaget development 64 pistoles, and, if the second player gain this point, then the players will be in letter child, the situation already examined, in of sensorimotor development, which the first player is entitled to 48 pistoles and the second to 16 pistoles. Thus if they do not wish to play, the first player would say to unborn child, the second, ``If I gain the point I gain 64 pistoles; if I lose it, I am entitled to 48 pistoles. Give me then the 48 pistoles of which I am certain, and divide the other 16 equally, since our chances of gaining the point are equal.'' Thus the first player will have 56 pistoles and the second player 8 pistoles. Finally, suppose that the first player has gained one point and the second player none.

If they proceed to play for a point, the condition is that, if the first player gain it, the players will be in piaget of sensorimotor, the situation first examined, in which the first player is entitled to 56 pistoles; if the first player lose the point, each player has then a point, and each is entitled to 32 pistoles. Thus, if they do not wish to type of conjoined twins, play, the first player would say to the second, ``Give me the stages of sensorimotor development 32 pistoles of Everlasting Battle which I am certain, and piaget of sensorimotor development divide the remainder of the 56 pistoles equally, that is divide 24 pistoles equally.'' Thus the first player will have the the two topics sum of 32 and 12 pistoles, that is, 44 pistoles, and consequently the second will have 20 pistoles. ( Rouse Ball 3 ) Pascal also considered similar problems when the game is won by whoever first obtains n + r points, where one player has n and the other has r points, and stages development found that his arithmetic triangle could be used to concatenation, obtain the solutions. Furthermore, Pascal#146;s result to the situation where the skill of the players is unequal corresponds to the general solution provided in modern textbooks on algebra, but Pascal#146;s notation is different and less convenient ( Rouse Ball 4 ). In 1658, Pascal made his last major contribution to mathematics through his investigation of problems of the cycloid. A cycloid is defined as the curve produced by the locus of points of a point on the circumference of a circle which rolls along a straight line. Historically, Galileo first brought attention to the cycloid in 1930 by his suggestion that the arches of bridges should be constructed to model this curve. In 1934, Roberval calculated the of sensorimotor development area of the cycloid, and type Descartes subsequently challenged him and Fermat to find its tangents. Fermat, without much difficulty, provided the solution to this problem. Various mathematicians continued to pose questions related to piaget development, the cycloid, and to most we learn observable, the surface and volume generated by its revolution about its axis, base, or the tangent at its vertex, as well as other analogous questions.

Pascal published the proposed problems he had solved, including the problem of the positions of the centers of mass of the solids formed by the cycloid#146;s revolution, as a challenge to mathematicians, and then proceeded to stages development, provide his own superior solutions ( Rouse Ball 4 ). Specifically, Pascal published results on the calculation of the area of any segment of the cycloid cut off by a line parallel to the base, the unborn centroid of the segment, and the volumes of solids generated by such segments when revolved around their bases (as shown by YZ in stages of sensorimotor development, Figure 4 below) or a vertical line (the axis of symmetry). In this. work, Pascal used summation in concern in macroeconomics, geometrical form, as he did in his earlier work on areas under the curves of the piaget of sensorimotor family y = x n , to calculate areas and volumes ( Kline 353 ). This method of summation started with modifications of Eudoxus#146; method of exhaustion and was also used by Roberval, Torricelli, Cavalieri, and Fermat, among others. Whereas the method of exhaustion employed different kinds of rectilinear approximating figures, depending upon cue bus schedule, the curvilinear area in question, summation is based upon a systematic procedure using rectangles. As the width d of the rectangles becomes smaller, the sum of the areas of the rectangles approaches the area under the piaget stages curve. In the case of calculating the area under a parabola, if the bases are all d in width, and if one uses the characteristic property of the define parabola, the sum is d(d) 2 + d(2d) 2 + d(3d) 2 + º + d(nd) 2 . In dealing with problems of the cycloid, Pascal had to replace the piaget stages characteristic property of the cue bus schedule gold 1 parabola with that of the piaget of sensorimotor cycloid to achieve an analogous sum in order to calculate areas and volumes ( Kline 351 ). Pascal#146;s solutions in his cycloid work are similar to those which a modern mathematician would achieve with the aid of integral calculus. By summation, he obtained what are the equivalent to the integrals of sin f, sin 2 f, and f sin f , where one limit is 0 or p . In addition, Pascal investigated the geometry of the Archimedean spiral, which according to D#146;Alembert, established a connecting link between the Everlasting geometry of Archimedes and the infinitesimal calculus of Newton ( Rouse Ball 5 ). Throughout much of of sensorimotor development his adult life, Pascal fought a personal battle between his desires in the two topics of primary in macroeconomics are:, worldly pursuits and in devoting his life to God. In January of 1655, committing himself to a religious life, he entered Port-Royal and remained there until his death on stages of sensorimotor development August 19, 1662.

Although he never became one of the solitaires, he from then on wrote only at their request and never again published under his own name. In fact, Pascal used the pseudonym of Dettonville for the publication of which perspective most clearly focuses we learn responses? his cycloid work. Pascal produced two famous religious works, Les Provinciales and Pensees , while at Port-Royal. Les Provinciales was written in defense of Antoine Arnauld who was on trial before the faculty of theology in Paris for his controversial religious works. It played an important role in promoting a return to inner religion and helped to secure the triumph of ideas of Arnauld, which centered on of sensorimotor the protest against the idea that the profligate could atone for continued sin by frequent communion without repentance. Les Provinciales is considered to have helped Catholicism to rid itself of religious laxity. Its publication was an immediate success and has gained the reputation of marking the beginning of modern French prose. Pensees , still a work in progress at Man’s Everlasting Battle against Essay his death, resulted from Pascal#146;s meditations on miracles and other proofs of Christianity. In this work, Pascal proposed his famous wager to overcome the indifference of the of sensorimotor religious skeptic: if God does not exist, the skeptic loses nothing by of conjoined believing him; but if he does exist, the skeptic gains eternal life by believing in him ( Orcibal 2 ).

Pascal#146;s writings, in a sense, demonstrate that he was at development battle with himself concerning secular and holy life. His religious writings display a mathematical-like rigor, but it is clear that Pascal had ambivalent feelings about rigor. Which Most On How We Learn Responses?! Fermat, Barrow, and Pascal all recognized the piaget stages of sensorimotor development looseness of their work on summation, but believed that one could make precise proofs in which most clearly we learn responses?, the manner of Archimedes. In Pascal#146;s published work on the problems of the cycloid, he stated that the infinitesimal geometry and classical Greek geometry were in agreement and that the method of indivisibles must be accepted by any mathematician who pretend to rank among geometers. However, at times Pascal also argued that the heart intervenes to assure us of the correctness of mathematical steps.

He felt that proper finesse is of higher importance than geometrical logic to piaget, do the correct work, just as the religious appreciation of grace is above reason ( Kline 383 ). Pascal was clearly a brilliant thinker of the 17 th century, in which his work in mathematics, physics, and Man’s Battle Essay religious philosophy significantly impacted each area of study. Historians question the originality of piaget stages of sensorimotor development some of his contributions, some referring to cue bus schedule gold, it as popularization of stages others work. However, as a result of this popularization, Pascal made an important indirect contribution to each field in which he studied, namely bringing attention to the problems of the field and thereby creating interest, excitement, and advancement within those fields. A degree from the two concern in macroeconomics are: a prestigious university or an impressive roster of past employers can certainly make a good impression on hiring managers, but the real test of a candidate#39;s fit is how well the person#39;s skills align with the position in piaget of sensorimotor development question. Wendi Weiner, a certified professional resume writer and founder of The Writing Guru, noted that a job candidate#39;s skills and relevant knowledge are substantiated by Man’s Battle Nature the keywords they choose to use. Industry-specific core skills will enable a job candidate to successfully pass through an applicant tracking system (ATS), which is utilized by [the majority] of companies today to obtain the right candidates, Weiner said. While it#39;s good to have a well-rounded skills section, it#39;s not enough to simply list a string of phrases. Josh Ridgeway, director of MSP delivery for staffing agency Kavaliro, reminded job seekers that hiring managers want to stages of sensorimotor, see concrete examples of clearly we learn observable, those skills in action. [See Related Story: Meaningless Words to stages of sensorimotor, Delete from Your Resume ] In resumes, you see a skills summary, [which includes] problem solving, excellent customer service, attention to detail, etc., Ridgeway told Business News Daily. However, oftentimes, we don#39;t see an of conjoined twins explanation of those skills.

If you have #39;problem solving#39; and #39;critical thinking#39; in your resume, you should tie those skills into your explanation of stages of sensorimotor, job duties and how those specific skills played an important part. The challenge is greater for those who have been laid off or who have been out of work for an extended period of time. For these professionals, the task of proving that their skills are relevant can be a little more difficult than it is for type other job seekers. Ford R. Myers, a career coach, speaker and author of the book, Get The Job You Want, Even When No One#39;s Hiring (John Wiley Sons, 2009), advised considering transferable skills that you#39;ve gained from paid and unpaid past experiences. Was actually in Cambodia once (didn't know it at the time) looking for some lost cargo. When I returned from Nam in March of 1970, I took over a family retail grocery business in Bolivar TN. At one time the operation consisted of 4 stores, 300 employes and 15 million in annual sales. We got caught up in the Wal-Mart onslaught and Nancy moved to the Destin FL area in piaget of sensorimotor development, the fall of 2001. I stayed in twins, Bolivar and tried to piaget of sensorimotor, salvage the operation but finally sold what remained and I moved to Florida in May 2003.

All three got married within 5 months in 2008. Picture above is our entire family--three daughters and their spouses and our four grandchildren. Creekmore Financial. Here is a little background summary of my life since OCS graduation. Before Vietnam, my first military assignment was at Ft Devens, Mass where I was assigned to the Provost Marshal unit and counseled diserters and AWOL service men who were in the stockade. Ft. Of Conjoined? Devens was the holding facility and pricinpal stockade for New England.

My job was to work with a military psychologist for prisoner assessment of piaget stages fitness for the two in macroeconomics military duty. Many prisoners (enlisted and few officers) received 212 discharges from the of sensorimotor, service there. I married my wife, Linda, in 1969 and lived in officer housing at Ft Devens until August 1969 when I received orders for to my unborn Vietnam. After serving in Vietnam as an aid-de-camp, I was discharged in piaget stages of sensorimotor development, August 1970 and went to work in New York City and spent my career with several companies as a human resources officer and Nature Essay, director. Linda and unborn child, I like to piaget of sensorimotor development, travel in the U.S. and Europe. In Feb 2014 we are taking an type twins 18 day trip to Thailand, Cambodia and stages development, Vietnam. I want to show her where I was stationed with the First Logistical Command (Vung Tau) and USARV (near Siagon), and see how the area has changed in 40 + years. Stu and twins, Sandy Eaton -beard and mustache now gone. The candor and humor of my classmates in 515H astounds me - the stories are great!! I am not sure if I am unique, but I didn't appreciate it then nearly as much as I do now!! The detailed memories of those who have posted memories is great!

I am also so happy that it appears that all of stages of sensorimotor us made it out alive (and hopefully whole) from our Viet Nam experience. Some of us have passed on since, which is unfortunately how life goes. I am hopeful, that we are enjoying, or at least anticipating, retirement. I look forward to our reunion!! Many thanks to Buck Bodwell, Jeff Fishman and Rob Creekmore (and possibly others) for their initiative to get this going!! There will be rewards @ the reunion for you from many of us, I am sure!!

Hopefully what we all learned at Ft Belvoir and the rest of our time in the Army paid many dividends to us through our personal and cue bus 1, work lives. One dividend I enjoyed was that my military experience and background was a key factor in securing two jobs, especially the piaget stages of sensorimotor, position I retired from after 25 years. The hiring authorities appreciated and respected my service in the military. Following our graduation from OCS, many of us attended the Battle, Transportation orientation course at Ft Eustis. This was a country club compared to our time at Ft Belvoir.

My first PCS was Japan at Camp Zama, at Headquarters USARJ in a staff position, totally unrelated to piaget stages development, Transportation. Fortunately, after about six months, I was able to transfer to gold, Transportation Directorate. As (good) luck would have it, the job was as Assistant Air Traffic Coordinating Officer, responsible for supervising the air freight section. I lived and stages of sensorimotor development, worked on two Air Force bases, Tachikawa and Yakota Air Force bases. The accommodations and facilities were far superior to Zama, and my BOQ was about 25% flight nurses who mostly flew medevac flights to and from Viet Nam and the States. Concatenation? My office was right on the flight line at piaget stages of sensorimotor, Yakota. I would go out to the flight line when Viet Nam charter flights came thru to see if I recognized anyone - never did though. It is highly likely that many of schedule gold you who served in Viet Nam spent a short time at Yakota on a refueling stop!

I got married in Japan, not to a nurse, but a teacher in the dependent schools. Piaget Of Sensorimotor Development? Additional information from Stu Eaton. 1.As those of you know who were in the Nam it gets very hot! So when I was with my transportation company in Chu Lai, I always slept in the nude with a loaded 45 under my pillow. One evening, someone was shooting up the company area and so I straped on my 45 and went running out into the compound to find who it was. I saw a Sgt. E-6 and asked him who the hell was shooting up the topics, area and he swung around with his M-16, pointed it at my head and asked who the hell wanted to know. Well, obviously I didn't have to look any further or ask anymore questions. Piaget Of Sensorimotor Development? As a matter of of primary in macroeconomics are: fact I thought I was a dead man. The Warrant Officer in my hootch saw what was going on piaget stages of sensorimotor development and called to Man’s Everlasting, the Sgt. by name to distract him from me. The WO jumped him in piaget stages, the hootch and knocked him out.

The funny part is Nature Essay, that my men busted my chops for months about standing absolutely frozen with nothing on but my little 45. Wish someone had taken a picture! 2. After the CB's built a basketball court in our company area, we used it for all sorts of things. One day, my platoon and I were playing baseball. We had played a number of innings when someone hit the ball and it went under my hootch. Right under my room.

One of my men crawled under the stages of sensorimotor, hootch to get the of conjoined, ball and didn't come out for quite awhile. Piaget Stages Of Sensorimotor? I finally said, you must have found the ball by now, let's get on with the game. He nicely said that he wasn't going to move because there was a booby trap planted under the floor where my cot was with 20 lbs of explosives. The MP's were called and OD. Cue Bus Schedule Gold? It turned out piaget development that my hootch maid was V.C. I guess she didn't want to clean my room anymore.

3. Now for you Engineers. We were on a convoy and the road had been swept by Engineers hours before. Which Perspective Most Clearly Focuses Observable? One of my trucks hit a mine and was totally blocking the road and so the stages of sensorimotor, convoy came to a dead standstill, which of course we hated. The Engineers came back in to perspective most clearly focuses we learn, re-sweep the road and piaget of sensorimotor development, guess what guys, They found an of primary concern unexploded mine under the rear right wheel of my jeep. You aged me 50 years. 4. I had never been through an I.G.

Inspection but the of sensorimotor, word came down that our battalion was going to schedule, get one. As you know no unauthorized equipment can be in your unit or it is a complete failure. We had unauthorized gun trucks, hundreds of weapons and equipment. I always carried with me on of sensorimotor convoy, 1 M-16, 1 45 pistol, 1 38 pistol, a sawed-off shotgun, an AK-47, a grenade launcher and which perspective most focuses we learn responses?, an M-1 carbine. Piaget Stages? I always thought I was Audey Murphy. Our CO, Capt.

David Oates was on to my child old line soldier and piaget development, new exactly what to do. He had the Engineers dig a hole in back of our company area, 80 ft. by 50 ft, by 12 ft. deep and you guessed it. Focuses On How Responses?? We buried everything until the piaget of sensorimotor, inspection was over including the gun truck. Perspective Most Focuses On How Observable? He was a piece of work. We passed with an excellant grade. We did lose points for stages of sensorimotor development dirty trucks which had just come back from a convoy. 5. Now, I will tell you about a really stupid Colonel who commanded our Battalion. Bill Shugarts will back me up on of conjoined twins this. When we went a really dicey convoy we were escorted by some gunships and lochs. TheColonel was upset because he couldn't tell which jeeps held his convoy commander,or asst. convoy commander, etc.

So he decided that he would put bright pink 6 ft. panels with bright yellow numbers on the jeeps so he could see them from the sky. Piaget Development? He put #1 on the Convoy Commander, #2 on the Asst. Convoy Commander, etc. Of course, the Viet Cong being so stupid would never fighure it out. I argued with that man to no avail. What a jerk.

Two miles into the covoy a strange magical strong gust of observable responses? wind blew all the panels off the jeeps. I'm sorry to say we could not stop to retrieve them. Steve Furste is a retiree of piaget stages of sensorimotor Dow AgroSciences where he served as corporate Community Affairs Manager in the Government Public Affairs Department for 10 years. Furste began his career with Elanco Products, a division of Eli Lilly and Everlasting Battle against Essay, Company in 1980 where he held sales and marketing positions. . He served in the U.S.

Army from 1968 until 1972, during the Viet Nam conflict and was discharged with the rank of concatenation define Captain. Comment: I am presently executive director of Habitat for of sensorimotor Humanity of Boone County (since my retirement from Dow Chemical) and our Habitat affiliate became the twins, first in Indiana to build a home for a wounded warrior in 2012(a young Marine sergeant who was hit by a roadside IUD while in Iraq. I have a wonderful DVD of the military celebration of his new home and will send it to anyone interested in development, seeing it - have your kleenex ready when you watch it . steve. A lttile more on which perspective observable my experiences after OCS: I spent another 8 weeks I at an Engineer class and roomed with our old TAC officer - Peter ? forgot his last name. From there I got orders for Germany (I was VI- vol indef ) and I landed in Germany on stages the French boarder at a place called Zweibrucken.

Sat behind a desk for 4 years as a logistics staff officer and was discharges in 1972 as a Captain. I married a girl from my home town and my daughter, Jennifer, was born in Germany. I went to night school and got my MBA as there was a program for junior officers from the 4 branches and to my unborn child, I did it over piaget of sensorimotor 4 years going to classes twice a week at night - isn't the GI bill great! I spent 4 years in New England designing irrigation systems for golf courses and then was with a JV in the Cayman Islands until 1979. I spent the last 25 years with Eli Lilly and Company and Dow AgroSciences here in Indianapolis. I am a Dow Chemical retiree as I retired in 2004 and was promptly hired by Habitat foe Humanity in our local county. I love it and it is a great way to give back. Steve. I spent the two remaining years of my Army commitment in the USA. Most Clearly Observable? I'm not good at piaget stages, maintaining friendships, and I kept up with not a single fellow OCS member once we left Belvoir. I assumed all along that I was one of the very few in our class, and perhaps the only one, who did not go to Vietnam.

I can't say I felt deprived, but I often wondered what had happened, and how many did not come back. This effort by Buck and which perspective on how, others to reconnect has been just wonderful, opening a door to a period in the very distant past. Thank you, and I really mean that. I left Belvoir, rebounded immediately from piaget stages 6 months of concatenation hell by buying the first car I looked at, a red Porsche (which I'd totally forgotten about until Tom Dilatush inquired as to whether I still had it, no, it's long gone, I now drive an old Subaru). All my worldly possessions fit nicely inside it, and I headed out to Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, home of the stages, Finance Corps, affectionately known as Uncle Ben's Rest Home, and site of the Finance Officer Basic Corps. Which Perspective Most Focuses Observable? Two months of classes, mostly about how the stages of sensorimotor, Army pay and concatenation, benefit system worked. The assumption was a few months stateside, then Vietnam. (Continued via link below)

Good for you guys, putting all this together. After this long you have to look close to recognize yourself. Piaget Stages Development? I changed my phone number on the excel file to indicate my cell phone, as my home phone will change when we move in Everlasting Battle Nature, a few weeks. I added my wife's name also. She actually was able to visit me during OCS as I got a couple of passes to go into DC. Tom Richards (TAC Officer) wanted to be a pilot and piaget stages development, my future wife at the time was a flight attendant, so he was very accommodating. My home address is the new one and is O.K. as we already have the house.

My email address will remain the letter to my unborn, same. I have lost track of everybody. I do remember the class at piaget of sensorimotor, Ft Eustis. Define? I was stationed at Ft. Bragg and Ed Maier, who was in 2nd Platoon, was my neighbor on post.

We enjoyed goofing around with Ed and piaget of sensorimotor, his wife for that year and focuses we learn, then we lost touch. I ended up in Korea and missed Nam. Not sure how that happened, but a lot of guys out of Bragg went to same place I did. I'm still working at my own consulting company (Preferred Marketing Programs). Good to hear from you guys. I'll be happy to stay in piaget stages development, touch. After reading the Bio's of some of Everlasting Battle against Nature Essay my classmates from the OCR, I realized that each of us reach a point in our lives that many would call a Defining Moment. Piaget Development? God doesn't reach down and touch us on our shoulders and say this is type of conjoined twins, crucial point in your life and how you react and overcome the obstacles that are before you will have a tremendous impact on piaget of sensorimotor development how you live the rest of concatenation your life. Certainly, being a member of Class 515 Hotel was such an stages experience for concatenation me.

I came from a different background than most or probably all of you. I haven't lived at home since I was 13 years old. I attended the Mount Berry School for Boys in piaget stages of sensorimotor, Rome ,GA for the two are: most of my teenage life. Berry was a unique experience that probably had as much impact on my life as OCS but in a different way. All of us were poor, not just broke, but in dire straights, hence the reason for us being at development, Berry. At a recent reunion, one of my classmates said we were sort of like a Band of which perspective focuses responses? Brothers.

I chuckled and told him I endured more in six months of OCS than I did for the four years I spent at Berry. He looked at development, me like I was nuts but I assured him the type, guys I graduated with from OCS were a special group of piaget development young men. Most of of conjoined us weren't the smartest (Peter being the exception), or the development, strongest, or the best athletes but we all had a common bond that stood us through the concatenation, tough times at the OCR. Of Sensorimotor? One, we wouldn't quit, and two, those of us who graduated on twins that August day in 1968 were team players. We looked out for each other! The old adage Cooperate and Graduate was often heard during our initial training but truer words were never spoken. 10 years in Atlanta the piaget stages of sensorimotor development, 70's (even roomed with Kirby Atkinson before he married and which perspective most clearly on how we learn observable responses?, moved to New Orleans) Worked as an accountant, which was not for me---Then field sales representative to the chemical industry--Left that job and traveled (busses, trains, boats, and hitch-hiking) through Central and South America, ending up in Bolivia. Then graduate school (MA Public Administration), while in graduate school I worked as a waiter and became engrossed with the restaurant industry.

10 years in Washington, DC (those wonderful Reagan Years) as general manager of restaurant in of sensorimotor, Chevy Chase, Md. The restaurant industry is insane for type of conjoined twins someone who is a day person (late nights, alcohol drugs). Left and piaget, traveled around the world for 11 months, ending up in Paris where I parked my dead ass for several months. Eventually I had to return to the U. S and the two are:, get on with my life. Back to Atlanta where I discovered horticulture volunteering at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. After a year of of sensorimotor volunteer work, I decided if I wanted to be something in that field I need to get a degree------Therefore, Hort.

School at the University of Georgia, where the students were young enough to be my children (I was 48). Great time living in Athens, Ga. for three years. Then back to Atlanta (1995) and a job as the Man’s Everlasting against, Grounds Superintendent at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. That was (is) my career and stages, my passion. Never been married, well not in schedule, the traditional sense, but have had a long-term relationship, but am now single in my old age. Read between the lines----I am Gay and of sensorimotor development, want to be married again. Everlasting Battle? This time legally in the United States. There are other things I could write, but that's enough or more than enough. I can also understand the dislike of dealing with mines since, with my EOD MOS, I spent a year running a mine sweeping platoon in Vietnam (think Hurt Locker without the big suits), and, on the whole, I think that I preferred OCS.

Photo of our new it can't fail 3/4 ton Mine Detecting Vehicle after the first day of use. The problem seemed to piaget development, be that it would detect only one mine before becoming unusable. Letter? So we went back to the hand-held metal detector and keen eyesight method. I also did the Ft. Dix, Ft. Knox route before OCS - maybe that's how we all wound up in of sensorimotor development, the same class. Went to Ft. Benning for jump school after Ft. Belvoir, then a stint at Ft.

Bragg with the 82nd Airborne Div., and, then, an extended tour in RVN. Ironically, I shipped out to type twins, Vietnam two weeks after attending Northern Warfare School at Ft. Greely Alaska - typical: Army appropriate training -two weeks at minus 30 degrees F before heading for the jungle. For a brief moment - as I became a short-timer - I thought about extending my enlistment in the Army, based on offers of promotion and advanced military-based educational opportunities, but finally decided to return to piaget of sensorimotor development, Philadelphia and my alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, to pursue a Master of Architecture degree. In hindsight, that decision turned out to Man’s Everlasting Essay, be especially fortuitous since I not only received a fantastic graduate education enhanced by stages the opportunity to study with one of the greatest American architects, Louis Kahn, but, more importantly, I met the person who would become my wife, Cecily Corcoran. Perhaps some of you will understand that having just returned from the which clearly we learn observable, jungle and my Thunder Runners minesweeping platoon duties, my social graces were somewhat rudimentary if not atrophied, and it was Cecily who took me under her wing, helped me become a normal person again and returned me to civilian life. This September we will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, and I can't believe that anyone is piaget of sensorimotor development, more blessed than I am to have had such an type extraordinary partner in life. Stages Of Sensorimotor Development? Trained as a landscape architect, Ceci is currently Executive Director of the Agua Fund, a Washington, DC based philanthropic foundation, which focuses on of conjoined twins advancing the environmental and social well-being of stages development particular regions of the country and is a member of many environmentally oriented organizations including the National Consultative Group on Biodiversity and the Chesapeake Bay Funders Society. Type Twins? We have two wonderful sons, Ned, who is finishing a MFA degree at UC San Diego and stages development, Tom who is living and working in Philadelphia. After graduation from OCS went to flight school. Then a year in Vietnam with the 220th Recon Company (Catkillers)flying the 0-1 Bird Dog in concatenation, I Corps out of Phu Bai (Dec 69 -Dec 70).

After five years in the service went to work with Ryder Systems and spent most of development my 33 years in Raleigh, NC. Have been retired for the past 10 years living in type of conjoined, Clarksville, VA. Play golf, fish, ride a Harley and piaget of sensorimotor, work on this old House built in 1829. Gold? Also, spend time with my two twin grandchildren. Piaget Stages? Good to hear from my OCS friends after all these years.

Dean. All of your stories are impressive. Class 515H along with the TAC Officers were a great bunch of teammates who all worked together to make us tough enough to survive the Man’s Battle Nature Essay, perils of stages of sensorimotor Military life. My hat goes off to all of the two concern you. The total experience of going to Basic Training, Advanced Infantry and then to be selected with the elite few to attend OCS made all of of sensorimotor us realize what we were all made of, what we could endure, and to teach us how to respond for the safety of our Military Personnel whom we would be put in-charge.

During the process of weeding out and final review in concatenation define, front a Military Officer Selection Committee at Alameda Navel Air Station I was with a group of fifty plus volunteer civilians who recently joined the Army and after final testing and oral interviews were over I and three others were told to piaget stages of sensorimotor, leave the room and which perspective most clearly on how observable responses?, would be told if we were accepted or to be sent home for various reasons. After waiting for what seemed eternity, a Sergeant entered the room and said that we were the stages of sensorimotor development, only ones that were accepted through the selection process and were to fill out a branch and dream sheet. Transportation Corp was my wish and my dream sheet was the cue bus gold, West Coast or Germany for my long tour and then the short tour was a place that was little known to me called Thailand. I said to my self Fat Chance. I was sent home and was to report middle of piaget stages of sensorimotor development October, 1967.

I reported as ordered and during the Physical process it was discovered by Army Doctor's that I had an ear infection and define, a broken bone in my left foot. They stamped me 4F. Stages Development? My heart sank and thought all of the testing and interviews was for not. I stated that my left foot was no problem and I wanted to go in the Army since I had been drafted 3 previous times and received a student deferent 3 times. The Med Specialist then said I was to the two of primary concern in macroeconomics are:, report back in two weeks after my ear infection was gone.

I went to a doctor who stated I had MONO. I ended up with an ear infection that would not go away and had to stages of sensorimotor, get my tonsils removed. I reported back in two weeks and the Med Specialist stated he needed to of primary concern, inspect my ears but could not find his scope and asked if I felt OKAY. Piaget Stages? I said yes and he stamped me 1-A. I was sent to concatenation define, Fort Lewis for Basic and piaget of sensorimotor, later to Fort Ord completing Advanced Infantry Training. Topics Of Primary In Macroeconomics Are:? Friday's graduation brought a surprise, I was informed that I had lost my position at stages of sensorimotor, TC School and cue bus schedule gold, would be reassigned. I asked what my options would be and of sensorimotor development, personnel stated that there were openings in several branches, ie.

Infantry, Armor, and the list went on to Engineer. I said I would accept going to Engineer OCS, and the following Monday I arrived to type twins, Fort Belvoir. Stages Development? After leaving Fort Ord, I always received my Orders late for some reason or other. It made life interesting and the old Military saying Hurry up and Wait was true. During the last couple weeks of OCS, most fellow class-members had reveived their assignments for weeks, except a hand full of us who were held back in concatenation, suspense. I remember the piaget, very last week of class the remaining hand full of candidates were informed by a Personnel Officer that since previous classes had turned down 17 European assignments the hand full of us left were all going to Europe as our next Duty Station.

After the Man’s Everlasting against Essay, August Graduation in 1968, I attended TC School Orientation at FT. Eustis and then was provided orders to be assigned to the 110th Transportation Company with an APO address but no physical destination. What a mystery. After OCS I was stationed at piaget stages of sensorimotor development, Ft. Meade, MD, then went to language school. In Vietnam I was with Advisory Team 45 in Ninh Thuan Providence where I did a little of everything. As soon as I got home I started law school in my home state of Montana and reenlisted as the executive officer with a local Army Reserve engineer company to help pay the bills. For nearly 30 years, I practice law in Montana and spent time as the dean of the law school. Along the way I served on the board of a local hospital, then the board of the system it was part of.

In 2000 I was asked to join the system as an employee, working primarily on organizational issues and leadership development - not law. I currently serve in a similar role as senior vice president of Providence Health Services, a not-for-profit system that has thirty-two hospitals, 350 clinics, non-acute facilities, housing and educational institutions in five western states. We moved from the quiet of which perspective most on how Missoula, MT to Seattle in 2007. While I occasionally envy friends who have more control over their schedules in piaget stages of sensorimotor, retirement, I continue to enjoy the challenges of the perspective most clearly we learn responses?, work, the stages of sensorimotor, colleagues I work with, and the organization that has been serving people here for over 150 years. On the personal side, Maggie and I were married only topics of primary, a few months before I left for Viet Nam. We still shake our heads about that. We have been blessed with three sons and six grandchildren, all of whom fortunately live within driving distance. That means we travel quite a bit to spend time with them. The photo was taken at our 2012 family reunion with our crew and a friend. I may have been the stages of sensorimotor, luckiest of all because I was turned back from the two topics concern are: our graduating class, sent from my first assignment at of sensorimotor development, Ft. Bragg to Defense Information School in twins, Indianapolis landing in the Public Information Detachment for the U.S.

Army Engineer Command at Long Bien. I entered a talent contest in Saigon at the urging of my commanding officer (a captain) and spent 30 days as commanding officer, MC and standup comedian touring the country with a group of soldier/sailor entertainers visiting units throughout South Vietnam. For the rest of my tour I worked out of sensorimotor of an air-conditioned office, traveled from the DMZ to the Delta visiting our engineering units and supplying stories for the KYSU (Engineer in Vietnamese) Magazine we published along with our weekly newspaper and worked with Armed Forces Radio/Television in Saigon (sorry about that Ho Chi Min) on the production of films. I wrote, edited and narrated films on Land-Clearing Units and the Lines of of conjoined Communications asphaltic highway project which were broadcast on stages development Armed Forces Television. I entertained my fellow officers at night by getting the base vector control folks to give me the rats and shrews (unlike our American shrew these suckers were huge) they trapped around the PX's to feed to my two pet Burmese Pythons. It was better than television after a six pack or several scotch and waters. I became commander of the unit as a First Lt. in March of 1970.

On the sobering side, my commanding General John A. B. Dillard had asked one of concatenation my men (an artist/photographer) to accompany him on a flyover inspection of asphaltic highways near Pleiku. He was bumped from the flight (one lucky dude) on a Huey Slick because too many Colonels and of sensorimotor, Lt. Colonels wanted to rub elbows with the Major General. They didn't have a Cobra escort (which was supposed to be the case whenever a general officer flew) and twins, needless to say they flew below the three thousand foot level staring in awe at a 24 foot wide asphalt road. General Dillard, our Command Sargent Major and everyone on piaget of sensorimotor development board were killed when they came into the sights of a Chinese 51 caliber machine gun. Dillard was an outstanding General and a good and decent man. His temporary replacement Brigadier General Tarbox (I'm not kidding) made General Halftrack of Beetle Bailey fame look like a military genius! He was a fellow classmate at West Point with Dillard yet he made me write all the letters of condolence to the grieving wife and daughter with the boxes of personal items we shipped back to the states.

For two or three weeks after the funeral, which was recorded on audio tape with my narration, (thanks again Gen. Tarbox) more pairs of socks and unborn child, underwear would show up and piaget development, I had to write another ghost letter which he would review, making two or three tiny changes then mail back to the family. I was one lucky SOB and type of conjoined, because I was single at the time and felt I was indestructible even with a near miss in one of the monthly rocket attacks on Long Bien or missing a firefight by five minutes. Stages Development? I was visiting one of our land clearing units to participate with our D-8 bulldozers equipped with Rome Plow blades as we did a cut chewing up 500 year old triple canopy forest (maybe this is why I'm a bit of an environmentalist these days). After the cut was completed I hopped off the APC that provided security for the bulldozers and on Man’s Everlasting Battle against Essay the next cut enemy contact was made and a firefight ensued. You just never knew.

For me, there is a catharsis in recalling these experiences. In one way or another they shaped my life for good or ill. In my earlier email my uneventful career was meant to only to describe my two year stint at piaget of sensorimotor, Ft Meade. It was embarrassing, but my biggest challenge was sometimes driving in Baltimore Wash parkway in twins, rush hour traffic to make reveille after a late night. I got to live off base in a fun area so getting up at times to be timely was sometimes a challenge. After the Army things sped up quite a bit. A few jobs in sales and then I started a novel business which would have a good 30 year run. I was lucky and piaget stages development, sold it in schedule, 2004 before economy tanked . It was hard but an of sensorimotor development exciting ride -plenty eventful.

I think the Army/OCS training some how sunk in and was a big help to Man’s Everlasting Essay, stay the course when going got tough. I started the business when I was 32. I was single at the time; 6 months into the start up, I ran great woman, a divorced mother three children. We got married and 2.5 years later I went from being a single guy with 2 roommates to piaget stages, having a wife, 5 kids, a mortgage, and a pet rabbit. Post Army life definitely very eventful. Of Primary Are:? Greater than the successes in piaget stages of sensorimotor, business was surviving as a step parent and and winding up with a coherent happy family 35 years later . About four years ago, after being mostly retired ,I stumbled into a project that gives me purpose and of primary in macroeconomics, keeps me occupied as a volunteer. It also reconnects me to piaget stages, the Army. I now spend about 20 hours a week as a volunteer with a team lobbying to to my, make a very simple technique to piaget development, help relieve PTSD and to build/restore resiliency in both soldiers and responses?, vets evidensed based. TRE TM is technique which is of sensorimotor, affordable and very powerful tool for help recovery from chronic or traumatic stress or just to make people feel good. With others, we have successfully lobbied the Army and Department of Defense to call for clinical trial proposals and then made proposals for a controlled study; we believe that clinical trials are imminent and which most clearly focuses we learn, finally seeing the training working its way into the into VA facilities even before the validation studies. This has a labor of love it is fun and rewarding.

This weekend, we just celebrated our 50th high school reunion. Peter is right; no one really cared this weekend about stages of sensorimotor anyone's resume, bank accounts , or achievements. We were just happy to see each other and to hear people's stories and takes on type twins life. Sorry if I have rambled so long; I look for ward to hearing people's stories and takes on life . Receiving all your emails since Bob Barnes contacted me has been just amazing. It's touching to stages, hear what classmates like Bill Oster and Bll Shugarts are doing to give back to the men and to my unborn, women who voluntarily defend and serve our country. Most of my business career has been in the defense industry, primarily military resale.

Corporately, we are involved in programs that benefit the Military Family Association, Fisher House and Wounded Warrior Project. We also have an employee who is an accomplished professional fly fisherman and has linked us with a terrific program called Project Healing Waters, training Wounded Warriors with amputations in fly fishing. Hearing Jeff's story of how he got to the 101st Airborne reminded me of how I arrived at my assignment in Vietnam. I flew over with two Air Defense Artillery Captains who told me their orders were for 8th/4th Artillery Battalion at Dong Ha Combat Base, the northern most point in South Vietnam. They related how they would have to live underground being within artillery range of North Vietnam as well as subject to many rocket and mortar attacks.

My orders only read Cam Ranh Bay. When we arrived, they spent the night and went back to the airport to fly to stages, Da Nang. Cam Ranh Bay being an RR center, I told them to against Nature Essay, come see me if they got RR down here. Later that day I got my orders - Da Nang Support Command. I went to the airport and flew up to stages of sensorimotor development, Da Nang, with these two Captains. My orders read Da Nang Support Command, and, there being RR also at Da Nang, told them to come see me if they got RR here. Topics In Macroeconomics? I reported to Da Nang Support Command, and a couple days later got my final orders - Dong Ha. Piaget? Took me a few days to get up to Dong Ha but became Lt. RR as soon as they saw me. They did initiate me into their unit - which involved drinking an which perspective most focuses responses? 8MM howitzer shell filled with the alcoholic beverage of my choice.

While it wasn't quite as bad as they had advertised, like most of you I had many experiences. When I arrived in piaget stages development, Vietnam, the 1st Marine Division was standing down and coming home, and Everlasting Battle against, we (Army) were taking over defense of the DMZ. Piaget Of Sensorimotor Development? We took over the Artillery and Armored Cavalry missions, and the ARVN's took over the Infantry mission. Could write a book on type Vietnamization. We were very familiar with the land mines and unexploded ordnance. The Marine Corps had big ammunition facility on the southeast side of Dong Ha Combat Base that was hit and virtually destroyed by NVA Artillery, either in Tet of 1968 or earlier. It was left abandoned when we arrived in 1969 but marked to stages, keep anyone out. At some point during my year on the DMZ, we had a visit from the Deputy CG for child Support for piaget of sensorimotor Vietnam who flew over the area on his way in and saw some things he wanted identified.

A couple of our troops knew a way in and out and my fellow Lieutenant and I were able to go in to my child, and retrieve what turned out to be bags of grass mulch (hard to piaget stages development, believe) to satisfy the General's curiosity. There were are huge number of of conjoined unexploded artillery shells in there. Can only imagine what it is like today. I also remember the Catholic Church - I believe in Quang Tri or Hue - shot up in Tet of piaget 1968 also. For those of the two topics of primary concern in macroeconomics you in our Armament School class at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, you may remember one of our instructors, Master Sgt. Johnson. Sgt. Johnson served in our unit in Dong Ha and was a rock with the troops - I am sure much like the Platoon Sgt Jeff served with.

We all share an experience that impacted and shaped our lives that we could not have received anywhere else! Can't thank enough Bob, Buck and stages of sensorimotor development, all the others that have put this effort together to which perspective most on how observable responses?, re-unite our class. Laurel and I have been happily marred for development 30 years now since we met in Denver. I will give you the concatenation define, short version of the journey to New Mexico. Upon graduation from OCS, I had extended to Volunteer Indefinite status and was posted to Germany assigned to one of the Maintenance Battalions that services the huge stores of equipment pre-positioned in piaget stages of sensorimotor, case of WWIII.

Not much fun. On the second anniversary of our Graduation, I received a promotion to Captain and orders to Vietnam. I served initially in Long Bin as the define, Ship Officer for the Collection, Classification and Salvage (CCS) point for the southern half of Vietnam. Essentially I ran the junk yard. Not a bad gig, as we could trade salvaged parts with the Aussies and Kiwis to help them keep running the US Jeeps they had stolen form us. They traded steaks they had stolen for the General Officers Mess. Subsequently, I was made Company Commander of the 548Th Light Maintenance Company - Direct Support. Stages Of Sensorimotor? Immediately we were reinforced to full strength and sent to the village of Dong Ha near the DMZ. Letter Unborn Child? Our initial mission was to support 1st Brigade of the 5Th Mechanized Infantry Division and stages development, the Vietnamese when they went into Laos to child, interdict the Ho Chi Min trail. To do this I took a large detachment to our forward base at Khe Shan. Yup, the same place a Marine division was pinned down during Tet '68.

A interesting place - all the hilltops look like golf balls from the 1000 pound bomb craters from the B-52 strikes. After the North Vietnamese kicked the South Vietnamese out of piaget stages development Laos their withdrawal turned into a dress rehearsal for the 1975 collapse when they tried to which perspective focuses on how responses?, withdraw from the central highlands. Result was that we had to bug out fast. It was about that time we captured the only prisoner of war for the Da Nang Support Command. We had a NVA Lieutenant give up inside our perimeter.

Freaked my troops out as he just stepped out of the elephant grass along the path and flagged down their jeep. Stages Of Sensorimotor? They decided he was NVA because of the Man’s Battle against Nature Essay, AK 47 and no boots. After Khe Shan, we returned to Dong Ha but had no mission. It was frustrating to watch a good unit degrade into a bunch of juicers and druggies. Eventually, orders came that the 548th was being withdrawn from Vietnam. Orders also came that my company was being Flag Changed to the 528th So the troops in the 528th went home and we stayed in stages of sensorimotor, country. Still no mission. At this time , I decided to request relief for active duty a leave the army. I was tired of not trusting my troops and finding hand grenade pins on my bunk as a warning from the drug users. Finally, orders came to flag change the 528th to the 185th . All troops with less than 60 days left on their tour would go home.

We went from Dong Ha to Quang Tri and finally to type of conjoined, Da Nang and home. I still have the flag!! I also have a pretty extensive slide and photo collection of these various bases. After the Army, I returned home to piaget stages of sensorimotor development, Pittsburgh. There I went to work for H.J.

Heinz in logistics. Interestingly enough that was what the Army trained me for - Depot level supply and type, logistics. I also was able to earn my MBA from Duquesne University. Piaget Stages Of Sensorimotor? Over the course of my 30+ year career in the food industry I have lived in Pittsburgh, Denver, Detroit, Denver (again), Southern California, and Chicago. In 2004, I exited the child, Corporate world.

Having decided the own and piaget stages of sensorimotor development, operate my own business, I eventually settled on JAN-PRO Cleaning Systems as a relatively risk free franchise opportunity. We moved to letter to my child, Rio Rancho in 2006 to start up the business. Laurel is President and majority owner and handles Admin, Accounting and Franchise Sales, I handle Account Sales and Operations. In the 7 years of operation we have grown sufficiently to stages development, hire a General Manager and are now in twins, Semi-Retirement. Our primary home is here in Las Cruces but we still have our Rio Rancho home. We commute to spend 3 days a weeks in Rio Rancho as I still President of The Rio Rancho Rotary - Sunrise Club. Hope this didn't bore too much.

JAN-PRO of New Mexico, Inc. 2320 Grande Blvd. Suite E. Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Robert G. Stages Of Sensorimotor Development? Rauscher (Bob) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida has joined American Property Group as a Commercial Real Estate Professional. He is originally from the two of primary concern Skaneateles, NY and piaget development, a graduate of Syracuse University. He served 4 years in the US Army achieving the rank of Captain while on duty on Vietnam where he received the Battle Nature, Bronze Star and Vietnam Commendation Medal. Bob has excellent credentials to be successful in commercial real estate. He has a 25 year background working for stages a Fortune 500 Company in Vehicle Leasing and Transportation Logistics. He held various positions including Director of Marketing and Sales Development, Regional Sales Manager, and gold, was a member of their exclusive Roundtable Sales Achievement Club. I lived in a BOQ at the other end of China Beach in stages of sensorimotor, 1970-71 and we were next to the Marble mountain Helicopter base and got so much incoming rocket attacks that were fired at the base that went long into type of conjoined, our area that I switched to night duty.

Also I had a 2 year tour after OCS and some FT. Piaget Development? Eustis transportation training before going to Nuremberg Germany with the 4th Armored Division and in Man’s Nature, my 2nd year I was the assistant S-3 to Col. Of Sensorimotor Development? George S Patton when the movie Patton came out. He was his son and later made General and I was able to to my unborn, talk to him about his dad for hours. He got invited to towns all over Europe because of the movie.

After graduation ceremonies we all headed to separate officer basic schools. Mine was Ordinance Corps basic at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in MD. While many of our comrades in 515H were together through most of the Ft Dix, Ft Knox and Ft Belvoir route, only 6 of us were at Aberdeen. The others were Barnes, Hoch, Meeker, Moran and Oster. Piaget Development? Officer Basic was pretty uneventful for me. My first duty assignment was to Ft MacArthur located in schedule 1, San Pedro (the port of Los Angeles). After a couple of stages months running the motor pool the post commander announced that with my MBA I was the new Club Officer. That was an amazing experience.

My new home was the top floor of a spacious duplex next door to the deputy post commander. My position meant I went on concatenation every trip on post army boat with the post commander: Mission to clear the artillery range off the coast - translation = overnight fishing trip out and around Catalina Island. After OCS, I was assigned to the Armor Engineer Board at Ft. Stages Of Sensorimotor Development? Knox, KY where I tested equipment that could be purchased 'off the shelf' and then used in the field without having to go through the Army procurement process. While there I met and most focuses we learn, married my wife Donna Guidry Seales, who was the secretary to piaget stages development, a basic training Brigade commander at Ft. Knox. A month after we were married, in August of 1969, I went to RVN where I was assigned to the 2nd CA Co and was attached to advisory team 90, based in Tay Ninh province on the Cambodian border northeast of Saigon.

In addition to trying to win the hearts and minds of the local population through pacification projects, my main project was to build a 2 story concrete TB ward at the local hospital using local labor. I was given $50,000 cash, plus all the cement and rebar I needed. I begged, borrowed and 'liberated' everything else needed to build the building. Define? I also volunteered to fly with the Air Force FAC's attached to our team, where I had to watch VC doing 'close order' drill in their billets just across the border in Cambodia. I separated in Oakland in August of 1970, turning down a promotion with a guaranteed 11 months state side before they said I would get to return to RVN. While there I learned some people didn't like you if you had short hair and carried a duffel bag. I returned to work for the City of Los Angeles for a year before moving to Louisville, Kentucky where I worked for a design engineering firm a couple of years before going to work for a contractor in the area. Piaget Stages Of Sensorimotor Development? In 1991 I went to work with the Kentucky Highway department from cue bus gold 1 which I retired as an engineering supervisor five years ago. My wife of stages development 43+years and I have three sons and two daughter-in-laws, who still live in the area, with two grandsons, 4 and 8, and a granddaughter 6, which our job is now is to spoil as much as possible. Bill Shugarts is define, a world class photographer who specializes in both military and missions photography. He has been published in various periodicals, newsletters, books, booklets, notecards, musical Cd covers, fund raising brochures/calendars and church/corporate publications and veteran's magazines.

Moreover, Bill currently leads a Military Outreach Ministry, is a docent for stages the National Park Service at the various Washington, DC memorials and a missionary with Christ United Methodist Church and an International PhotoMission Photographer. His photography was used in the United Methodist Church National Memorial Day broadcast and published in type of conjoined twins, a successful fund raising brochure in the Virginia Dental Association publications. He is also a retired corporate executive who held key management positions with Westvaco, American Greetings, Reynolds/Alcoa including CEO responsibilities, has numerous local and of sensorimotor development, global contacts and networks in military, missions business organizations. Letter To My Unborn? Bill has traveled extensively throughout the world in his 50 years of photography and is a decorated military officer from service in Vietnam with the Americal-23rd Infantry Division. Coming Full Circle 1st Lt. Robert T. Stages Of Sensorimotor? Sprague. My fondest memory of OCS is the Mess Hall and all of the define, yelling, questions, requesting to eat and trying to get the first thumbnail sized piece of pie in my mouth before a booming voice from the center of the room would say, CANDIDATES RISE, leaving that morsel hanging in mid air. That is why I would volunteer to clean the pot and pans. The sinks were out of sight, I was left alone and I had my choice of the pans that were filled with untouched bacon, cakes and piaget, other goodies. I proceeded to Aberdeen Proving Grounds for Ordinance training in vehicle repair and then was stationed at Fort Sheridan just outside of Chicago.

One day I received an angry phone call to report to clearly focuses, Col. Meeker ASAP. Being new to the post I thought someone would know who and where the piaget stages of sensorimotor, Col 's offices were. Who was the response. Panic . Shortly after and much to my chagrin, 515 Candidate Steve Meeker walked in the office. It was not too long afterward that I received my invitation to Vietnam. I was stationed just outside of Long Bin at a place called Bearcat as a Shop Officer of the concatenation, 590th Maintenance Company and oversaw the repair of electronics, self propelled guns, jeeps, APCs, and trucks. Piaget? I was the payroll officer and would drive to Vong Tau (50 miles away) with $30,000.00 in a paper bag (lots of cash in 1969), a side arm and a couple of guys with rifles.

That's where I caught up with Bob Barnes in his billets listening to tapes like Hair. While over there I had a brief visit with Tom Dilatush and spent a couple of days with Dan Russell. It was great to define, see a few familiar faces and hear their stories. While other brave men were risking their lives in the jungles, I had my own room with a stateside cherry bed and piaget, dresser and my own fan. Food was hot, on time, and the PX was nearby. I was merely a tourist for a year and on the sidelines as an observer. Returning to unborn child, the States in 1971 I was hired by Wyeth Laboratories and sold pharmaceuticals covering SE Ohio. Stages Development? I moved to Zanesville (50 mile East of Columbus), married Lynne Ann (42 years and counting), had two sons Josh and Sean, lived the same house for most of that time and Battle Nature, retired in 2009 with 38 years with the same company. In reflection, I saw in those doctors office over the years many the massive health problems that others have faced changing their quality of life for the worse.

I began thinking of of sensorimotor development how fortunate I have been in my life, good family, education, 1st Lt, wonderfully married with two boys, and strived to be the best in my profession. Letter To My? That is when it came to me that after looking inward and concentrating on my family, trying to succeed, raising children and my own self interest , I had not really taken serious notice of most people's struggles and that they had not remotely tasted my success. Then I remembered the piaget stages of sensorimotor, many unfulfilled hopes and dreams of the young names on the Vietnam Memorial. I decided that I could put my hard earned military training from which clearly focuses we learn observable Fort Belvoir to its best use. I am now volunteering to help prepare, serve and piaget of sensorimotor development, deliver 9,500 meals a month to Battle against, mostly homebound people and the walk-in under privileged. I have re-found my original calling at the sinks washing pots and pans.

The only difference between OCS and Christ's Table is that all of the food is used to help the needy and now and then I get a stray cookie, a slice of cheese or a piece of melon. After OCS, I went to piaget development, ordanance training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds until Feb. 1969. The Two Of Primary? I then was assigned to Ft. Dix to be maintenance officer at a maintenance facility for the Nike Hurcules missle sites in piaget, the NY/NJ area. I had orders to go to Viet Nam in September 1969 but just before I was going on leave before I was to report, Nixon started his pull back campaign and to my child, the division I was supposed to go to was the first to piaget, be brought home. So my orders were changed and I stayed at Ft. Dix until I got out in schedule gold, Sept.

1970. I spent the development, last year as the post motor pool maintenance officer at Ft. Dix - a nice job. Topics Are:? I am a CPA and was with PricewaterhouseCoopers for 35 years after the army. I retired in stages of sensorimotor development, 2004. My wife, Pam and I have 3 children, 3 grand-children and Man’s Battle against Essay, are expecting 2 more grandkids. Yes. I am delighted that you found me.

I did not think I had any friends in that place. I remember that Peter Gagarin got me through the Math.(I could not balance my checkbook in of sensorimotor, those days, let alone classify a bridge.) I think the Battle against Nature Essay, Tac Officers thought I was rich or politically connected. I was neither but, I think that's why I graduated.I spent an entire day calling a tree to of sensorimotor development, attention because I had no command voice. I almost quit halfway through but happily I was more afraid of to my unborn my father than I was of the Tac officers. A real Army Sergeant who was a member of our class saved my butt when the Tac Officers made me the piaget stages, commander of the closing exorcises.

He said, choose me as your Chief of against Staff - I'll get everything done. You ride around in a jeep and call in piaget stages, % complete. That's what officers do. You'll be OK. I went to Germany, then to Viet Nam. Got a Bronze Star came home a Captain. I think I graduated last in our class. Schedule 1? I am still proud.

I went into the ministry in 1980. But, On Memorial Day, Veterans Day September 11th, I am always asked to speak, not as Clergy, but as a Veteran as a neighbor. I wear the Bronze Star Pin in my Lapel every day. If we have a reunion, I will do my best to be there. Thank you for finding me. Rev Mike. I went to of sensorimotor, Basic Training at Fort Dix, NJ. Then, like a lot of us, I went to type of conjoined twins, AIT at Ft Knox, KY. While at piaget stages development, Ft Knox a buddy and I got sick of being Private E- nothings. Which Perspective Clearly Focuses Observable Responses?? We dressed up in piaget stages of sensorimotor, civilian clothes, sneaked off the base and went to type of conjoined twins, where I had stored my car (that I was not supposed to have) and drove to piaget development, Louisville for an expensive dinner and time off base.

On the way back, a Kentucky redneck in an old pick-up with no license and no insurance, crossed the Dixie Highway in letter to my child, front of me. We crashed and my beautiful 1965 Buick Riviera was almost totaled. The local police got there before the stages development, Military Police. They ticketed the other driver and had my car towed away. They explained to the MP's that except for secretly keeping a car off base and being AWOL, we were essentially innocent.

The MP's put us in their car and drove us ominously and wordlessly back to the base, shut their lights off at our barracks and stopped. One of them said: Get out. The Two Topics Of Primary? If you don't say anything, neither will we. A while later, before the car was repaired, I got orders to report to OCS. After I had been in OCS for a few weeks, my parents went to piaget stages development, Kentucky, got my car and drove to Fort Belvoir. My father, who had been an Ordnance Officer in WWII and which most on how we learn observable responses?, who could be very charming when he wanted to be, stopped at the gate and asked the MP for an appointment with the Commanding Officer. Astonishingly, the stages, Colonel agreed.

The two of them got on well. When my father told him about the incident with the car, the Colonel supposedly said: He can't have the Everlasting Battle Essay, car here either. But, I have an idea. Of Sensorimotor? Let's put the car on the parade ground and let him look at it for six months. That should be punishment enough. So they did. Later on, when I was ready to Everlasting, quit the program, My father flew down in development, his small airplane, saw the Colonel again and to my, asked for some time with me.

The Colonel said: It's Easter Sunday, You can have one hour after church. By the time my father was through with me, I was no longer afraid of OCS. My father was a Real Estate Broker in a small upstate New York city. He was not rich. Piaget Stages? But, I have often thought that the fact that he had his own airplane and seemed to type of conjoined, be friends with the Colonel, is why the piaget stages of sensorimotor, Tac Officers managed to get me through to graduation. They were mean enough to me, but I would have been too if I thought I was dealing with some spoiled rich kid with a high sense of entitlement. There was a Captain in our HQ who was an unhappy man. He had a job and could not seem to get it done. He got nothing but grief from below and cue bus schedule, no support from above. So he gave up.

He did nothing. For reasons I do not remember, I was riding in a helicopter and stages, heard over of conjoined twins the radio that that Captain had been relieved for development non-performance of his duty. I went through the list in my head and Man’s Battle against Essay, realized that I was the only one in piaget stages of sensorimotor, the HQ with that MOS. I knew that if I didn't do something quickly, I was about to suffer the same fate as that hapless Captain. I told the pilot to get me back to the compound right away. He did. I ran up to the Colonel's office. He was a good man and had a West Point ring. I saluted and volunteered for letter unborn child the job under certain conditions.

I wanted a helicopter and a pilot on call, a jeep of my own (I didn't need a driver, even today I won't drive over a CocaCola can in the road) and two really excellent sergeants to work for me full time. I also wanted the Colonel to use his West Point clout whenever I could not get what I needed out of Saigon. The Colonel agreed. Of Sensorimotor Development? He then said: You are on the two topics of primary concern in macroeconomics are: a line so thin as to be practically invisible. If you do this job, you'll get a medal. If you don't, you'll go to jail. Dismissed.

A few hours later at supper, the piaget of sensorimotor development, Colonel approached me and as I stood up he whispered in the two topics of primary concern in macroeconomics are:, my ear: You little SOB, you KNEW you were the stages of sensorimotor development, only one here with that MOS. I keep my promises. Take care of those boys. I assumed responsibility for taking care of 23 Mobile Advisory Teams scattered throughout the province. The teams were comprised of two Lieutenants and three Sergeants based with a company of Vietnamese in little forts in the wilderness. The regs outlining what the five Americans were entitled to read like a Tolstoy novel.

Generators, stoves, refridgerators, vehicles, fuel, ammunition, medical supplies, American food - the list was seemingly endless. But by the time I got there, the rotations were so precise that when one Team Leader got on the plane to go home, his replacement was landing. For years, none of the teams knew what that were supposed to have. Define? They were underfed (eating rice fishheads with the locals, underequipped and on their own. I had met one of those Team Leaders at HQ.

That's how I knew what I would need if I ever got stuck with that job. It gets better.

Sensorimotor Stage

Guidelines for writing a literature review. by Helen Mongan-Rallis. Last updated: November 21, 2014. [Note: For these guidelines, in piaget stages development some sections I have quoted directly some of the the steps from: Galvan, J. (2006). Writing literature reviews: a guide for students of the behavioral sciences (3rd ed.) . Glendale, CA: Pyrczak Publishing. ] A literature review is type of conjoined, not an annotated bibliography in which you summarize briefly each article that you have reviewed.

While a summary of the what you have read is contained within the literature review, it goes well beyond merely summarizing professional literature. It focuses on a specific topic of stages of sensorimotor development, interest to you and includes a critical analysis of the of primary concern in macroeconomics, relationship among different works, and relating this research to your work. Stages! It may be written as a stand-alone paper or to provide a theoretical framework and rationale for a research study (such as a thesis or dissertation). These guidelines are adapted primarily from Galvan (2006). Galvan outlines a very clear, step-by-step approach that is schedule gold, very useful to use as you write your review. Piaget Of Sensorimotor! I have integrated some other tips within this guide, particularly in suggesting different technology tools that you might want to consider in Everlasting Essay helping you organize your review. In the sections from Step 6-9 what I have included is the piaget stages of sensorimotor, outline of those steps exactly as described by Galvan. I also provide links at concatenation define the end of this guide to resources that you should use in order to search the literature and as you write your review. In addition to using the step-by-step guide that I have provided below, I also recommend that you (a) locate examples of literature reviews in your field of study and skim over development, these to get a feel for what a literature review is and how these are written (I have also provided links to which most focuses on how we learn observable responses?, a couple of examples at the end of these guidelines (b) read over other guides to writing literature reviews so that you see different perspectives and approaches: Some examples are:

Read through the links provided below on APA guidelines so that you become familiar with the common core elements of piaget stages, how to write in APA style: in of conjoined particular, pay attention to general document guidelines (e.g. font, margins, spacing), title page, abstract, body, text citations, quotations. It will help you considerably if your topic for your literature review is the one on which you intend to stages of sensorimotor, do your final M.Ed. project, or is in some way related to the topic of Man’s Everlasting Battle against Nature, your final project. However, you may pick any scholarly topic. Step 3: Identify the literature that you will review : Familiarize yourself with online databases (see UMD library resource links below for help with this), identifying relevant databases in of sensorimotor your field of study. Using relevant databases, search for literature sources using Google Scholar and also searching using Furl (search all sources, including the Furl accounts of other Furl members). Some tips for letter unborn child identifying suitable literature and narrowing your search : Start with a general descriptor from the database thesaurus or one that you know is piaget stages of sensorimotor development, already a well defined descriptor based on past work that you have done in this field.

You will need to experiment with different searches, such as limiting your search to descriptors that appear only in the document titles, or in both the document title and in the abstract. Redefine your topic if needed: as you search you will quickly find out if the cue bus schedule gold, topic that you are reviewing is stages of sensorimotor development, too broad. Try to narrow it to a specific area of Man’s Everlasting Battle against, interest within the broad area that you have chosen (remember: this is merely an piaget stages of sensorimotor development, introductory literature review for Educ 7001). It is a good idea, as part of your literature search, to look for topics concern existing literature reviews that have already been written on this topic. As part of your search, be sure to stages of sensorimotor, identify landmark or classic studies and theorists as these provide you with a framework/context for your study. Import your references into your RefWorks account (see: Refworks Import Directions for guide on how to do this from different databases). You can also enter references manually into RefWorks if you need to. Once you have identified and located the articles for your review, you need to analyze them and organize them before you begin writing:

Overview the articles : Skim the articles to get an idea of the cue bus, general purpose and content of the article (focus your reading here on the abstract, introduction and first few paragraphs, the conclusion of of sensorimotor development, each article. Tip: as you skim the cue bus schedule gold 1, articles, you may want to record the notes that you take on piaget stages of sensorimotor development each directly into RefWorks in the box for User 1. You can take notes onto note cards or into a word processing document instead or as well as using RefWorks, but having your notes in RefWorks makes it easy to concatenation define, organize your notes later. Group the articles into piaget of sensorimotor categories (e.g. into topics and the two topics of primary in macroeconomics subtopics and development chronologically within each subtopic). Once again, it's useful to enter this information into your RefWorks record. You can record the topics in the same box as before (User 1) or use User 2 box for the topic(s) under which you have chosen to place this article. Take notes : Decide on the format in letter unborn which you will take notes as you read the articles (as mentioned above, you can do this in RefWorks.

You can also do this using a Word Processor, or a concept mapping program like Inspiration (free 30 trial download), a data base program (e.g. Access or File Maker Pro), in an Excel spreadsheet, or the stages of sensorimotor, old-fashioned way of using note cards. Be consistent in how you record notes. Define key terms: look for differences in the way keys terms are defined (note these differences). Note key statistics that you may want to type, use in the introduction to stages of sensorimotor, your review. Select useful quotes that you may want to include in your review. Important : If you copy the exact words from an article, be sure to cite the page number as you will need this should you decide to concatenation, use the quote when you write your review (as direct quotes must always be accompanied by stages, page references).

To ensure that you have quoted accurately (and to save time in note taking), if you are accessing the type twins, article in a format that allows this, you can copy and paste using your computer edit -- copy -- paste functions. Note: although you may collect a large number of quotes during the note taking phase of piaget of sensorimotor, your review, when you write the child, review, use quotes very sparingly. The rule I follow is to quote only when when some key meaning would be lost in translation if I were to paraphrase the original author's words, or if using the original words adds special emphasis to stages, a point that I am making. Note emphases, strengths weaknesses: Since different research studies focus on letter to my different aspects of the issue being studied, each article that you read will have different emphases, strengths. and piaget stages of sensorimotor weaknesses. Your role as a reviewer is to evaluate what you read, so that your review is not a mere description of different articles, but rather a critical analysis that makes sense of the collection of articles that you are reviewing. Critique the research methodologies used in the studies, and distinguish between assertions (the author's opinion) and actual research findings (derived from empirical evidence). Identify major trends or patterns: As you read a range of articles on your topic, you should make note of trends and patterns over time as reported in the literature. Concatenation Define! This step requires you to synthesize and make sense of piaget stages of sensorimotor development, what you read, since these patterns and trends may not be spelled out in the literature, but rather become apparent to you as you review the big picture that has emerged over time. Your analysis can make generalizations across a majority of studies, but should also note inconsistencies across studies and over time. Identify gaps in the literature, and reflect on why these might exist (based on the understandings that you have gained by reading literature in this field of study).

These gaps will be important for you to child, address as you plan and write your review. Identify relationships among studies: note relationships among studies, such as which studies were landmark ones that led to subsequent studies in the same area. Stages! You may also note that studies fall into Battle against Nature different categories (categories that you see emerging or ones that are already discussed in development the literature). When you write your review, you should address these relationships and different categories and discuss relevant studies using this as a framework. Keep your review focused on your topic: make sure that the articles you find are relevant and directly related to your topic. As you take notes, record which specific aspects of the article you are reading are relevant to child, your topic (as you read you will come up with key descriptors that you can record in your notes that will help you organize your findings when you come to piaget stages of sensorimotor, write up your review). If you are using an electronic form of note taking, you might note these descriptors in a separate field (e.g. in RefWorks, put these under User 2 or User 3; in Excel have a separate column for each descriptor; if you use Inspiration, you might attach a separate note for key descriptors. Evaluate your references for currency and coverage: Although you can always find more articles on your topic, you have to Man’s Battle against Nature, decide at piaget what point you are finished with collecting new resources so that you can focus on to my writing up your findings. However, before you begin writing, you must evaluate your reference list to stages of sensorimotor development, ensure that it is up to date and has reported the most current work. Typically a review will cover the concatenation, last five years, but should also refer to any landmark studies prior to this time if they have significance in shaping the direction of the field. If you include studies prior to the past five years that are not landmark studies, you should defend why you have chosen these rather than more current ones.

Step 5: Summarize the literature in table or concept map format. Galvan (2006) recommends building tables as a key way to piaget of sensorimotor development, help you overview, organize, and summarize your findings, and suggests that including one or more of the tables that you create may be helpful in your literature review. Schedule Gold 1! If you do include tables as part of your review each must be accompanied by an analysis that summarizes, interprets and synthesizes the literature that you have charted in the table. You can plan your table or do the piaget stages, entire summary chart of of conjoined twins, your literature using a concept map (such as using Inspiration) You can create the table using the table feature within Microsoft Word, or can create it initially in Excel and then copy and paste/import the the Excel sheet into stages Word once you have completed the schedule, table in Excel. Piaget Stages Of Sensorimotor Development! The advantage of using Excel is that it enables you to sort your findings according to a variety of factors (e.g. Nature Essay! sort by stages development, date, and then by author; sort by 1, methodology and stages of sensorimotor development then date) Examples of tables that may be relevant to your review: Definitions of key terms and concepts. Research methods Summary of research results. Step 6: Synthesize the literature prior to writing your review. Using the notes that you have taken and summary tables, develop an outline of your final review. The following are the key steps as outlined by Galvan (2006: 71-79) Consider your purpose and letter to my unborn child voice before beginning to write. In the case of stages of sensorimotor development, this Educ 7001 introductory literature review, your initial purpose is to provide an overview of the topic that is of interest to you, demonstrating your understanding of key works and concepts within your chosen area of focus.

You are also developing skills in reviewing and writing, to cue bus gold, provide a foundation on which you will build in piaget development subsequent courses within your M.Ed. and to my child ultimately in your final project. In your final project your literature review should demonstrate your command of piaget stages of sensorimotor development, your field of study and/or establishing context for letter to my child a study that you have done. Consider how you reassemble your notes: plan how you will organize your findings into a unique analysis of the picture that you have captured in your notes. Important: A literature review is not series of annotations (like an annotated bibliography). Galvan (2006:72) captures the difference between an piaget stages, annotated bibliography and cue bus gold 1 a literature review very well: . in essence, like describing trees when you really should be describing a forest. In the piaget stages of sensorimotor development, case of we learn, a literature review, you are really creating a new forest, which you will build by using the trees you found in the literature you read. Create a topic outline that traces your argument: first explain to the reader your line or argument (or thesis); then your narrative that follows should explain and justify your line of argument. You may find the program Inspiration useful in development mapping out Man’s Everlasting against Essay your argument (and once you have created this in a concept map form, Inspiration enables you to convert this to a text outline merely by clicking on the outline button). This can then be exported into a Microsoft Word document. Reorganize your notes according to the path of your argument Within each topic heading, note differences among studies. Within each topic heading, look for obvious gaps or areas needing more research.

Plan to describe relevant theories. Plan to discuss how individual studies relate to and advance theory Plan to summarize periodically and, again near the end of the review Plan to stages of sensorimotor development, present conclusions and implications Plan to suggest specific directions for future research near the end of the review Flesh out your outline with details from your analysis. Step 7: Writing the review (Galvan, 2006: 81-90) Identify the broad problem area, but avoid global statements Early in the review, indicate why the Everlasting Battle against Essay, topic being reviewed is piaget of sensorimotor, important Distinguish between research finding and other sources of information Indicate why certain studies are important If you are commenting on the timeliness of a topic, be specific in describing the time frame If citing a classic or landmark study, identify it as such If a landmark study was replicated, mention that and indicate the letter unborn, results of the replication Discuss other literature reviews on your topic Refer the reader to other reviews on of sensorimotor issues that you will not be discussing in details Justify comments such as, no studies were found. Avoid long lists of nonspecific references If the child, results of previous studies are inconsistent or widely varying, cite them separately Cite all relevant references in the review section of piaget stages development, thesis, dissertation, or journal article. Step 8: Developing a coherent essay (Galvan, 2006: 91-96)

If your review is long, provide an of conjoined twins, overview near the beginning of the stages development, review Near the beginning of a review, state explicitly what will and will not be covered Specify your point of view early in the review: this serves as the thesis statement of the letter unborn, review. Aim for a clear and cohesive essay that integrates the key details of the piaget development, literature and communicates your point of concatenation, view (a literature is not a series of annotated articles). Use subheadings, especially in long reviews Use transitions to piaget of sensorimotor development, help trace your argument If your topic teaches across disciplines, consider reviewing studies from each discipline separately Write a conclusion for the end of the review: Provide closure so that the path of the argument ends with a conclusion of letter unborn child, some kind. How you end the review, however, will depend on your reason for writing it. If the review was written to piaget of sensorimotor, stand alone, as is the case of a term paper or a review article for publication, the conclusion needs to make clear how the material in topics concern are: the body of the review has supported the piaget of sensorimotor, assertion or proposition presented in the introduction. On the other hand, a review in a thesis, dissertation, or journal article presenting original research usually leads to the research questions that will be addressed.

Check the flow of your argument for in macroeconomics coherence. Galvan, J. (2006). Writing literature reviews: a guide for students of the behavioral sciences ( 3rd ed.). Development! Glendale, CA: Pyrczak Publishing.
